    Golda Jordan Walsh, 95, of Kingsport, died----- September 13 after a brief hospital stay.

    She was born on July 23, 1917, to the late James Willis and Vada Ann Robinson Jordan.

    In addition to her parents, Golda was preceded in death by her husband, Arvel Parks Walsh, who passed away in 2008; sisters, Helen Collins and Marguritte Lowe; brothers, Ray Denver Jordan, Willis Jordan Jr., James Earl Jordan, Samuel "SD" Jordan and Russell Jordan.

    Golda retired twice from the bindery of the Kingsport Press — once in 1954 to start a family and again in 1986.

    Golda was a native of Johnson County, TN, and a graduate of Johnson County High School. She worked for the Chicago Chemical Warfare Procurement District in various locations in Ohio and was a graduate of the Lincoln Nurses Institute and a Red Cross Volunteer Nurses' Aid during World War II.

    She was certified, in 1945, as an airman by the Civil Aeronautics Administration to pilot a Piper Cub.

    Golda was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church, Kingsport, TN, and previously a member of Doe Valley Methodist Church, Mountain City, TN.

    Golda is survived two daughters, Carolyn Walsh Carter and her husband, Milton, of Unicoi, TN, Marilyn Walsh Lewis and her husband, Rick, of Louisville, KY; a sister, Imogene Millsaps and husband, Raymond, of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Justin Lewis and wife, Meagan, of Palatine, IL, and Emily Lewis, of Danville, VA; special friend and neighbor, Clara Smith; Wednesday lunch buddy, Peggy Walsh; and faithful companion, Taco.

    The family wishes to thank Golda's faithful caregivers: Nina Arwood, Diane Bays, Janie Dixon, Carolyn Wampler and Donna Weatherly.

    Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. September 16, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Mountain City with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating.

    MOUNTAIN CITY — Marguritte J. Lowe, age 91, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.

    She was born on February 10, 1919, in Bel Air, Maryland, to the late James Willis and Vada Ann Robinson Jordan.

    In addition to her parents, Marguritte was preceded in death by her husband, Farley A. Lowe, who passed away in 1992; sister, Helen Collins; brothers: Ray Denver Jordan, Willis Jordan Jr., James Earl Jordan, Samuel 'SD' Jordan and Russell Jordan; and grandson, Billy Russell III.

    Marguritte enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and flowers and quilting. She enjoyed life and was always up for an adventure.

    She was the oldest member of Doe Valley United Methodist Church, having been a member for over 80 years.

    Marguritte is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis and Bill Russell, of Jonesville, VA, Linda and Bob Tyree and Kathy and Don Rankins, of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Goldie Walsh, of Kingsport, TN, and Imogene Millsaps and husband, Raymond, of Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren: Michael Russell, Wesley Tyree and wife, Marcy, Kevin Tyree and wife, Jocelyn, and Steven Rankins and wife, Jane; great grandchildren: Connor Tyree, Grady Tyree, Alex Tyree and Evan Tyree; and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Kenneth Wayne Jordan and Rev. Kristie Banes to officiate.

    Graveside Service and Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of the family.

    ELIZABETHTON - Imogene Jordan Millsaps, age 82, Elizabethton, left her earthly home on Wednesday morning, December 6, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness.

    Imogene was a native of Johnson County, a daughter of the late James Willis Jordan, Sr. and Vada Robinson Jordan. She was a graduate of Johnson County High School. Imogene married the love of her life on September 7, 1957. They moved to Elizabethton in 1967, where they raised their two sons. She was employed by Baxter, Johnson City, until her retirement. She was a member of Doe Valley United Methodist Church, Mountain City, but attended Watauga Point United Methodist Church, Elizabethton. She was a fifty year member of Butler Chapter #218, Order of Eastern Star. She was a loving wife, mom, mother-in-law, granny, sister, friend and caring neighbor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Golda Walsh, Marguritte Lowe and Helen Collins; and five brothers: James Earl Jordan, S.D. Jordan, James Willis Jordan, Jr., Russell Jordan and Ray Denver Jordan.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond Millsaps of the home, Two Sons: David Millsaps, Johnson City and Douglas Millsaps and his wife, Sharon Millsaps, Jonesborough; two Grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Millsaps, Cleveland, Tn. and Matthew Hunter Millsaps, Jonesborough; very dear friends, Ed & Ginger Cobb, Elizabethton, several nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leann "Lu" Crandall, and Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Berry officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: David Millsaps, Doug Millsaps, Ed Cobb, Eddie Cobb, Terry Jordan and James Avery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Millsaps and Jerry Jordan.

    Opal Jordan Eggers, age 93, died peacefully on February 6, 2018, at her home at the Galleria Woods, Birmingham, AL. She was born October 6, 1924, in Johnson County, TN, to Hedrick and Lily Bruce Jordan. She graduated from Johnson County High School where she played basketball. From there she lived all over the country and Europe with her husband, William Butler Eggers, who served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force. They retired to Montgomery, Alabam, in 1967.

    Opal was a descendant of Isaac Shoun, son of Leonard and Barbara Shoun who settled in Johnson County in 1792. She enjoyed attending the annual reunions of the Shoun-Shown-Shawn Family Association.

    Opal enjoyed quilting and knitting and won ribbons at the Alabama State Fair for her work. She also spent many years volunteering for the Red Cross.

    Opal is survived by her three children, Jeanni Wilson of West Palm Beach, FL, Lary Eggers of Williams, OR, and Philip (Elaine) Eggers of Hoover, AL; one sister, Mary (Pete) Peters of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Rhonda A. Hunt of Culpepper, VA, and Isaac A. Eggers of Hoover, AL; and great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and her friend and caregiver, Valencia Nelson.

    Family and friends will gather to pay final respects with a viewing and visitation on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain City Funeral Home (224 S Church St. Mountain City, TN 37683, 423-727-9700). At 2:00 p.m. there will be a graveside service at Wilson Cemetery off Swift Hollow Road (Turn off Hwy 67W by the Dewey Christian Church).
