- Mrs. Alice Eggers Tester, 66, of Lexington, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
She was born Oct. 11, 1929, in the Dutch Creek community of Watauga County, a daughter of the late Eugene and Tempie Shook Eggers. She was a former nurses aide and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Tester; four sons, Terry Tester, Jeffrey Tester and Kevin Tester, all of Lexington and W.T. Tester of Salisbury; one daughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Ala Jo) Koontz of Lexington; four brothers, Buster Eggers and Jack Eggers, both of Lexington, Claude Eggers of Route 3, Banner Elk and Fred Eggers of Boone; four sisters, Mrs. Etta Davis and Mrs. Mary Eggers, both of Route 4, Banner Elk; Mrs. Snow Caraway of Newland and Mrs. Betty Hughes of Roan Mountain, Tenn. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Cecil Gary Tester and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Cole.
Services will be Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with the Rev. Max Shoaf and the Rev. Lynne Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington.
