    Elsie Lillian Chambers, 87, 1249 Thomas Boulevard, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 12, 2001, at her residence.
    Mrs. Chambers was a native of Washington County and had been a resident of Carter County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Fox Austin and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Chambers Sr., November 5, 1979, a brother, Bill Austin, and a sister, Dorothy Chambers.
    Mrs. Chambers was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was co-owner and founder of Jim's Men and Boy's Shop.
    Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Tony Maddox, Dallas, Texas, and June and Bobby Snyder, Gray; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kay Chambers, Elizabethton; a brother, Carl Austin, Elizabethton; and 10 grandchildren, Bobby Snyder and Lance Snyder, both of Charlotte, N.C., Summar Snyder, Greenville, S.C., Todd Chambers, Atlanta, Ga., Craig Chambers, Kevin Chambers and Brandon Chambers, all of Elizabethton, Dorinda Rainey, Unicoi, Chad Maddox, Dallas, Texas, and Ty Maddox of Nebraska. Six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

    CHAMBERS -- Funeral services for Elsie Lillian Chambers, 87, 1249 Thomas Boulevard, Elizabethton, who died Monday, November 12, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with the Rev. Ron Owens and the Rev. Luis O'Bourke officiating. Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Grace Baptist Church.

    Elsie married James Graydon "Jim" Chambers about 1932 in Carter County, , , Tennessee.     GRAY - June Chambers Snyder, 77 of Gray, Tennessee, who was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017.

    June was born March 10, 1940 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, a daughter to the late Jim and Elsie Chambers. She met her husband, Bobby Snyder at East Tennessee State University and they were married on June 1, 1960.

    June was a loyal member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee since 1960. She served her precious Lord and Savior in many ways including Girls in Action, Acteen's, Sunday School Teacher, youth leadership and faithful choir member. June had a long history of working retail including her father's store, Jim Chambers Men's Shoppe, and Belk Department Store in Johnson City, TN.

    June loved sharing the Gospel until her failing health affected the things she loved the most but even to the end she never forgot her Jesus. June was known for being a prayer warrior in the church and community. Her love for others was unconditional and she unselfishly gave her time, money and resources. She was always equipping her family to do the same for others. She also had a passion to sit around the kitchen table and talk for hours to her family and friends. Her legacy will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those she influenced.

    In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Chambers.

    June is survived by her husband, Coach Bobby Snyder Sr., sons Bobby Snyder Jr. and wife Natalie of Mooresville, NC, Lance Snyder and wife Michelle of Indian Trail, NC, daughter Summar Simpson and husband Bobby Simpson, of Mount Pleasant, SC. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Chambers Maddox of Trophy Club, TX and 6 loving grandchildren, Brittney Snyder, Madison Snyder Gilbert and husband Jason, Austin Snyder, Dillon Snyder, Shea Snyder and Isabella Simpson.

    The family will receive friends Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Sherril Nave and Evangelist Toonie Cash officiating. The graveside service will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Grandsons Austin & Dillon Snyder will serve as pallbearers along with Frankie Haws, Bobby Simpson, Boots Yarber, and James Barker.

    June married Bobby Lynn Snyder on 1 Jun 1960 in , , Tennessee, .
