JESS VANDYKE
Jess T. Vandyke, 38, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Vandyke was a native of Carter County and was an employee of the T.V.A.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Carrie Vandyke; three brothers, James E. Vandyke, Johnson City, Paul D. Vandyke, Elizabethton, and Fred J. Vandyke, Oak Ridge; one sister, Mrs. Roy Guntner, Knoxville; his grandmother, Mrs. Ruthie Romalinger, Elizabethton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home, 703 Wells Street, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Clarence Howington in charge, assisted by the Rev. Raymond Geisler. Burials will be made in Highland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Vernon Glass, Lawrence Davis, Bert Reeves, William Jackson, Raymond Hicks, William Jones, Johnny Norris, Eugene Slagle, Jr. Tribble. Flower bearers will be selected from friends. Honorary pallbearers: Dave Hunnicutt, John Roberts, Tom Combs, Ed Helfer, Jess Shoun, W. B. Roe.
The body will be returned to the home Wednesday afternoon. Roy Hathaway Funeral Home is in charge.
