- Robert E. "Buck" Carver, 81, of Jonesborough, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Charlie Erwin and Mary Ingram Carver.
Buck was of Baptist faith.
He served his country in the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps.
Buck was a truck driver and loved trucking. He was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, his brother Sam Carver preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Volena Bradford Carver of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Carver of the home, Chris and Summer Carver of Jonesborough; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice M. and Phil Dalton of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Logan Austin Carver, Chandler Carver and Ashleigh Carver; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Dogwood Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Minister Pete Booher. A committal service is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington County Memory Gardens.
A procession will leave Morris-Baker to the cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Active pallbearers will be: Michael Bradford, Chris Carver, Phillip Dalton, Steve Carver, David Peters and Logan Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chandler Carver, Chuck Mathes, Dennis Bradford, J. C. Bradford, Jim Bradford, Dean Gregory and Scott Ingram.
