FORREST HICKS TREADWAY…
… 64, Rte. 1, Mountain City, died Tuesday night at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Elizabethton, after a short illness. He was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn Crumley Treadway. He had been a schoolteacher in Carter and Johnson counties.
Treadway was a retired postal employee, having served in the post office in Elizabethton for 23 years. He was a life-long resident of Carter County, having lived in the Watauga Valley community until moving to Mountain City recently.
Survivors include the widow Mrs. Josie Buckles Treadway; one son, Glenn of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, all of Knoxville; one brother, Charles B. Treadway of Watauga Valley; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie T. Percy of Elizabethton, Lena and Ethel Treadway of Watauga Valley, and several nieces and nephews.
