Louisa was born in Burke County, NC on 9 Apr 1844 the daughter of John Garrison and his wife Eliza "Dicie" Loving Garrison. Following her birth, the family moved to Carter County, TN. She married Samuel Carter DeLoach on 27 Jan 1865, and they had six children. The family moved to Doeville in Johnson County, TN in about 1885. This picture was probably taken after 1920, when Samuel died, and before 1922 when Louisa died. Samuel and Louisa are buried in a family cemetery atop a small hill overlooking their home in Campbell Hollow.

Sam was born 17 Apr 1915 in Johnson County, TN, the oldest son of Joseph Alexander DeLoach and his wife Dovie Williams Arnold. During his youth, Sam was a Golden Gloves boxer, and his nose showed the results of his fights. He was drafted in the Army at the beginning of WWII, went to OCS, and by the end of the War, he was a major.

The owner of this Model T Ford is unknown, although it may have been George Kite. It was used on several occasions as a prop for neighbors of Roy Leonard to have their pictures taken. The Model T began production in 1908, so this was certainly one of the first of them in Johnson County, TN.
